Hey y’all! My name is Kate Varner, I‘m from Kennesaw Georgia, and I’m a rising senior Theatre for Youth major at Samford University.
I fell in love with theatre when I was seven years old, and I have been doing it ever since. By the time I reached highschool, I knew that theatre was more than just a hobby, it was my career. I transferred to Pebblebrook High School and joined their performing arts magnet program titled the “Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts”. There I learned many valuable skills that helped make me the artist I am today.
While earning my BFA at Samford University, I have continued in my training in acting, singing, and dancing. I have also found new passions for positions “behind the scenes” such as directing, teaching, and choreographing.
My goal for the future is to make art and to see art. I want to travel, perform, create; and once ready, teach the next generation of theatre artists.
In August 2026, I will be traveling with the Samford theatre department to perform in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I get the amazing opportunity to play Mrs. White in Cluedo. Performing alongside my friends, being directed by Donald Sandley and Jordan Rehm, and traveling the world is a dream come true.
